How to organise a volleyball tournament

A one-day cup or a season-long knockout: open entries, seed the teams, generate the bracket or the groups, and publish results as they come in.

How it works

  1. Open the tournament

Create a league for your organisation if you have none, then add a competition in the knockout or groups + playoff format.

  2. Take entries and seed

Invite teams or accept applications; order the seeds by hand or draw them at random.

  3. Generate the bracket

Choose the dates and the venue; the bracket or the group tables appear with every tie scheduled, over one or two legs.

  4. Play and publish

Enter each result; winners advance automatically, the bracket updates live and the final names the champion.

What you get

  • Knockouts and groups

Single or two-leg ties, groups with a playoff and byes for the top seeds.

  • Seeding and draws

Order the seeds by hand or draw them at random.

  • Live bracket

Winners advance as you enter results, on a public bracket anyone can follow.

  • Schedule by venue

Every tie gets a date, a time and a venue.

  • Notifications

Teams are told when a tie is scheduled and when a result is entered.

  • Free

No fees for organisers or players.

Questions and answers

How many teams can a tournament have?
Any number: byes go to the top seeds when the count is not a power of two, and groups can be of any size you set.
Can a tournament have group stages and a playoff?
Yes. Choose groups + playoff: set the number of groups and how many advance; the knockout is drawn across the groups once they finish.
Can I run a two-leg knockout?
Yes. Set legs to two; the second leg swaps home advantage and the aggregate decides the tie.
How do teams and players follow the tournament?
The bracket, schedule and results are public pages; every team gets a notification when a tie is scheduled or a result is entered.
Is it free to organise a tournament?
Yes, for organisers and players alike.
